Hello Horse lovers!
I know that this is no longer current news, but its not like I visit this forum on a regular basis...
Its a slow day at work... thought I'd visit this forum on the off-chance that there were any updates about how Carrot was getting on in his home. A little sad to read...
Wow hovis, that sounds like a really nice gesture - i am sure that the staff at Bransby are very grateful. Heres hoping your diary gets onto the Times Bestseller list, and lots of money is raised!
If you get the chance, please thank the staff at Bransby from chloe and I for all the care and...
yeah, he did look good. I can't believe the transformation, he looked like a different horse. I hope carrot doesn't miss him too much. Chloe is off work for 6 weeks now, so Im sure she will want to go and visit him!
Hi people
(2 years ago, I was the OP)
Chloe and I havent been onto this forum for about 18 months (no need to :) ), so at a loose end, i decided to log on to see if there has been any updates on Carrot & Spud.
Unfortunately there has.
Very sad to read this, but at least Spud's last...
Hello everybody, Andy & Chloe here
We just got a phone call from Tallavera, giving us a heads up with the updated situation. It is fantastic news that their previous owner has signed them over, and they will now spend the rest of their days in comfort and safety.
It was heart-warming...
Ok that IS strange - I was only thinking about Carrot and Spud this afternoon, and wondering if they pulled through... I havent visited this forum at all in the past 2 months (why would I? there are no more local horses to save ), and the day I decide to log in, there is a fresh update. Perfect...
yes, that part was my own addition - I just get the impression from the tone of the letter that are trying to absolve themselves of responsibility ... but then again, I understand that certain procedures have to be followed. Its just a shame that red tape sometimes has to be waded through...
Hi everyone
Just in case you are interested, here is an email I received earlier today from the WHW Deputy Head of UK Welfare:
"Thank you very much for your email regarding the horses in Stamford. I am aware that the horses have been removed to a place of safety, which is very positive news...
I dont quite know what to say....
There are quite a lot of active threads about the events of the last 24 hours, i dont even know which one to post in - i have just spent ages reading them all.
I still find it quite hard to believe how this whole saga snowballed ... within 24 hours...
Hi all,
Sorry to go off on a tangent but was hoping someone could help with getting our details (probably not the smartest move on our behalf!) removed from the posts as forum is getting more attention than we anticipated and Andy's phone is being inundated with calls!
Thanks again everyone...
Hi again
For those that havent been following from the start - I am the one who made the original post
If it helps anybody, here are the links to the other photos that we took. They arent great quality but maybe useful:

Just wanted to say a massive thankyou to everybody here for all advice, help and action. Its amazing that this post has had over 4000 views in about 4 hours - that in itself is a lot of publicity. And to think I very nearlly didnt register here, because it seemed a bit silly when we had...
Hi back again:
1. The horses have definitely not been rescued. They have been in that field for at least 6 months (I first saw them there in March, and didnt notice any signs of emaciation... but then, unless they were in a state as bad as this, i probably wouldnt!)
2. It was wet and dark...
OK - Chloe and I are going to go down now with some water for them (a very clean washing up bowl as we have no buckets!!) - I'll be back for an update in half an hour or so - we'll bring the bowl back and leave no 'evidence'.
Any objections or suggestions ? We'll wait for 5 mins before...
