I'm looking at an Equitrek Sonic 3.5t and am aware the ramp is on the right so a horse generally travels on the far side at bottom of the road camber. Does that make any difference to movement or cause any rolling? I suppose you can put them in the partition nearer the ramp... what do people do...
Yep, just got a new youngster so back at 80 hopefully up to 90 soon. Also know another grade IV who was running at intermediate & advanced in the last couple of years, active para dressage competitor too. I expect there are a few around. Go out and have some fun, you know what you're good and...
Hi been eventing for 10ish years and latterly had my assessment at grade IV tho done nothing more about it, para stressage is way out of my league. Will carry on jumping unless I feel I can't safely (you're more likely to see me at 90 than novice these days as much due to old age and horse...
Very sad to hear this. Many years ago, Peter gave my 5yo mare with early arthritis a 'sporting chance' of recovery; he helped her to stay in work well into her teens. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a great sense of practicality. The man himself and dare I say his style of veterinary care...
I had a mare whose leg would blow at a scratch, go like an elephant leg in hours, vet treated it with Flamazine used for burns victims and left me with some (not sure I didn't source some on eBay) and that would always do the trick. Not cheap but it really worked for her.
I think I've done the rounds of the most prominent dealers (and the ones to avoid), more will come on the market over next few weeks I'm sure. Unless they're all still in Ireland as the ones above suggest!
I WANT a IDxTB, didn't expect it to be this hard and really was just registering surprise at an irish ...of diamonds stallion being half european warmblood on sire side, but then I don't buy horses very often. Paying the right money for the right horse is fine but I've yet to meet it. I'm sure...
Hi I've been on both sides lately, sold one and now buying. If you're realistic on price for description you should be able to sell anything. You can spend more money on schooling and livery but you might not get back any more than if you just get the price right now for where he's at. It may...
No it doesn't I agree but I just sold an Irish wbx ISH mare after 2 years of trying to get on and that couple of little actions reminded me of her, all just a bit too close to home. His sire is Jack of Diamonds and I thought I was riding an idx until I looked up the pedigree and saw swb which...
Thanks will try JG. Haven't been to pangbourne this time, theirs are usually younger than I want I think. May waive the no greys rule when I run out of brown and orange ones, tho 15 years of the lovely lady of my avatar who went from iron grey to white with shades of beige and yellow are still a...
How can it be so hard to find one that will jump 1m sj and xc, hack and trot in a few polite circles as needed. That used to be what an Irish horse was. Middleweight, bit of bone, short coupled, moves off the leg and stops as required. It seems that many ISHs now have more than a slice of WB to...
Racemaster, had it 4 years from New build and been great. More basic build than some but safe and horses love it. current service has unveiled a wiring issue it's hard to get in to fix which is annoying but you might get that with any build. What's the payload of Bloomsfield?
Thanks will look for Carol Guy. Want something straightforward to RC, bit of eventing, won't stress out at the wobbly contact of my dodgy arm like the WBx did. Need to try for size but 15.2 sounds a bit small, depends if it's wide enough I spose. No time for trips to Ireland I'm afraid!
Shopping. I managed the selling, now I need to find another one. Starts with trying a nice but unsuitable youngster this weekend for size / type then who knows.
