I've pm'd you but would just like to say I'm so sorry, I know what you have and are going through. Just remember and this is one thing that stuck with me was that you loved him enough to let him go in a dignified way. Be proud of that xxx
The horse I lost in 2008 was on loan, I never felt worried when her owner came to visit but we had a good relationship which when she did have to be put down made things alot easier for all of us. I would certainly loan again xx
Couldn't edit my post properley so I'd just like to add that you can also get a supplement called zylkene from the vet that is designed to help nervous dogs. He sounds just like mine, she's always been very noise sensitive and will start shaking at bin lorries, road sweepers, rain, bird scarers...
Sorry to hear about your little old boy, I know what you're going through as my little one is similar, she's 13yrs now and has always been sensitive but has become even more so as she's aged. They are a worry!!

It is common for dogs to get this if they have excess acid build up so unlikely to be related to previous surgery. Always seem's about six am ish that they want to be sick and they'll either bring up nothing or bile (dark yellow liquid) best way to help is to feed your dog a slice of dry toast...
It depends on the rescue but they often want the dogs returned to them if there is a problem so you need to contact the rescue first before going any further.
