Isn’t everything on this forum a “first world problem”
Running two while possible puts me much closer to the red than I am really comfortable with. Never-mind the purchase price of a such a horse.
And the other side is that when I have a perfectly good & capable, albeit quirky horse...
Wanted to pick some brains..
My confidence jumping my lad is absolutely zero. He is a Welsh Sec D and is scopey, enthusiastic, but also a complete prat sometimes!
About 2 years ago we had a good summer where we evented for the first time (only UA 60cm, but still!) we completed a camp and had a...
It’s the kind of horse that I can’t find for less than 8k going for 3k ono so a fair reduction for the conditon.
I’m leaning to that it might be worth going to see to at least how progressed it is for myself
Hi all,
Just wanting some experiences of the disease before committing to see a horse who is otherwise perfect.
Currently 13yo and still able to be shod behind, it’s only one leg, and the horse is otherwise spot on for us. Described in the advert as “mild”
I have no great competition...
I think the trailer will be sound - He has a reasonable rep locally.
But I don’t like the man out of principle as I’d arranged to see a private sale trailer the next day and was prepared to pay full asking. But he had swiped in the same day and got it for less money - and then proceeded to...
I couldn’t get on with the hay cube for mine - albeit he doesn’t get soaked hay. He just used to pull all the hay out of the cube and onto the floor but the grill made it so he couldn’t eat from it without ending up chucking it about the stable. I never thought it held enough for him either for...
Me! Although I think mine has 200kg more capacity than yours.
And I towed with an Octavia before this which I loved but was far too low to the ground for my trailer.
860kg box + 600Kg horse.
Very firmly can only do the one horse - even though on ‘paper’ I have room for another, I don’t think...
In contrast I think not every person is for every horse! My gelding who is usually very person oriented - best friend if you’ve got food. Will give anyone cuddles. Yet he just doesn’t really much bother with my sister, he all but rolls his eyes when he sees her “ oh her AGAIN” and it’s not for...
If you’re looking at A&P I have fed both care and gain and the soothe and gain.
C&G was good but didn’t put weight on but did fuel a quite hard working horse over the summer whose grass was limited, he did maintain so I suppose if the workload wasn’t there it would’ve done the job!
The S&G is...
Thank you both!
I am aiming to go out with my local bloodhound pack which is a quieter day than the local foxhounds!
Hopefully he realises it’s hard work and calms down as he is a talented jumper and looks super smart in the field!
A bit of a WWYD
So took my lad out on a bit of a pre hunting tune up event one of our packs runs locally. He’s never hunted before but has done pleasure rides and was sensible. For the first half, while he was really keen I was able to have a say in direction and speed even into some of the...
I recently took a ride in the back of a new Ifor (naughty but was round the car park with an anxious horse) and I was SHOCKED at how loud and rattley all the panels were in motion! For the price of them I would expect much quieter ride!
Tried a few having done a basic content analysis none of the pelleted balancers were up to much!
Ones I’ve personally tried
Equimins AC - horse wasn’t a huge fan and needed a drizzle of molasses to eat and while he looked well enough in it I wasn’t 100% on it doing much
Progressive Earth -...
