@JennBags sadly we are quite a way away from you :( I'm happy to answer any questions though or take some photos of the setup if that'd be helpful? I can see why you didn't want to spend £600. I was definitely pro cheap and cheerful when putting ours together (but it does work surprisingly well).
Yeah, for an entire house to be totally off grid you're going to need much much more energy storage (and solar generating capacity). You'll also be running nearly all your devices of AC mains voltage so the need for a high power inverter is going to be there from day one.
The benefit of doing...
Hi,
I recently helped setup a small solar power system at a yard with no mains power connection. The goal was to make lighting as simple as it would be had they had a mains connection (so a simple as flicking a switch!!)
Knowing some of you also have your yard's 'off the grid' and might be as...
With your LED lights it might be possible to modify them to run of the 12V directly.
LED lights run on DC power (like you get out of a 12V Lead Acid Battery) so if you use an inverter it'll most likely go from 12V DC -> 240V AC -> (something like) 12VDC. An inefficient way of lighting - so...
Well I can appreciate that. If you wouldn't use the other features that the package offers (invoicing, stock management, staff works lists etc. - see https://www.attheyard.co.uk/features/ for the full list) I'd agree that you wouldn't be getting enough value out of it to justify the subscription...
At The Yard - www.attheyard.co.uk does stable management for entire yards (I also am the owner of the company for fair disclosure). I am not sure if you're looking just for your horse or an entire yard but it might be what you're looking for.
The app is designed to work across desktops, mobiles...
I've been looking into doing this as well (still at the planning stage at the moment). The data usage will depend greatly on how you set it up and how much you use it.
If you're going to be looking at the camera 24/7 (or even all night) it's going to eat a lot of data. Whereas if you're just...
