I have that exact same lambskin half pad and it's gorgeous, sorry can't comment on it stopping the saddle moving as I use mine on top of a numnah and for horses comfort! Have you thought about using a crupper?
Hi, my super sensitive skinned horse has them! He absolutely loves them and the bit still fits, with no rubbing, so would defo recommend from my experience of them :)
