    Which hoof supplement?

I used to feed my horse pro hoof from progressive earth. Really good all round supplement and noticed a big difference in hoof quality and 'footyness'. I have now changed to equi vita pro b. The spec in this is the same as pro hoof but is cheaper. I chose the pro b version as yee sac is added...

    Freeze marking

I also had my chestnut TB done on his back who is very sensitive. Was surprised how unbothered he was by it all. It healed nicely and had have had not any bother and it has never been sensitive to sunlight. I had mine personalised to his name so I like it that little bit more!

Why would anyone want to do dressage on a cob?!

He is lovely! I love a little cob. I rode my friends cob x dales away and often keep her ticking over for her teenage daughter. I often think how lovely it would be to ride her full time and take her dressaging! A bit different than my tb!

    "one person" horses...?

I'd be inclined to think these 'one person' horses are actually just very intelligent and more in tune with their surroundings and senses. For example they may be taught to lead from the shoulder with a loose line and to halt when you halt and the handler always appears calm and confidant. And...

    "one person" horses...?

I wonder if my horse is a one person horse, and my instructor who has been with me through our high and lows has said this. This is why I made the decision to give him a holiday while I am on rehab after an hip operation. Maybe I have made him that way or his personality has led him to get that...

    Loading tricks... chifney?

My ex racer became a nightmare to load when he once knocked his head unloading. From then on he would go in but come out at 100mph. As you can imagine this was less than ideal and he soon learned that he didn't want to go in at all (and you can hardly blame him). I took him to a natural...

Back to the vets we go....

Didn't want to read and run. I have followed many of your threads and aplaud your dedication to finding a diagnosis for your horse. My ex racer was very much the same. I bought with the intention of eventing but he was quite troubled and has a multitude of diagnosis and 'issues' which maybe stem...

Update on TB in hospital and advice please.

He did. He was still lame after all his box rest so I made the decision to just turn out with his friends he would either knacker himself or get better. Luckily after the initial firework he settled down and was sound within 4 weeks we couldn't actually believe it.. But I had to be prepared to...

Update on TB in hospital and advice please.

Poor boy, however sounds like he's on track to be sorted. My boy was lame on his front right. After a full workout turned out he was lame in both fronts. MRI showed oestoarthritus in both coffin joints. A fractured pedal bone on right front, collateral ligament damage and some other changes. His...

Hi, He is on micro linseed and was on pro hoof but have changed to and equivita supp with same spec. He is also fed high fibre/ low sugar/starch diet. We do hack at least once a week at moment (due to light in week after work) and he's fine without boots now and we go up for 45 mins on...

    Hip arthritis advice please !

I've no experience in horses with this but didn't want to read and run. I suffer with hip and back pain and I am awaiting a hip arthroscopy to reshape the hip joint at the moment at 23 years old and I'm in pain most days. Sounds like you've done everything you can at the moment. I think if...

    Hoof opinions please...

I will ask my trimmer about this. I do keep thinking is there enough improvement in his feet but in 10months he has probably only just grown a new hoof capsule and so in the scheme of things his feet can change again and his heels were so collapsed when the shoes came off and like pancakes so...

    Hoof opinions please...

Hi, he has turnout everyday so is out from morning to evening so is always moving around on his feet albeit it is on grass and mud at the moment. Or are you meaning why not do some extra in hand work on the yard?
