Glad I am not the only convert from stuffy stiff long boots (sorry unicornleather I know you sell both but chaps are better for me). I think if you are riding better in chaps then comfort for both me and the horse come before what is deemed to be etiquette.
Horses for courses as they say! I think my brand new leather Ariat chaps and boots all nice clean and shiny looked very smart. They certainly did not get commented on by the judge and with 8 riders in the class there were plenty wearing boots that could have been placed ahead of us.:p
Did my first ridden class and came second so I think my chaps must be fine or could it be down to the judge on the day? Any way I am going to keep at it as I definitely ride better in chaps than long boots.;)
Wow thanks for the heads up on the unicornleather site for chaps just bought a pair what a bargain!! Loved their own style of cotton girths so ordered two of them as well. I can't stand the elasticated girths to much movement in the saddle it must rub!! I go for cotton every time.
Thanks...
What do you like to ride and compete in Long boots or nice leather chaps. I really like top quality chaps and am about to buy some new Ariat's as I find them so comfortable to ride in. I might be doing some ridden classes do you think I might get marked down for wearing them? Anyone know where...
