Have you had a look at the Horze neoprene ProBell over reach boots, my boy is sensitive and so far theses haven't rubbed him when used. Can get them on ebay around £10.

Have you tried place like Mole Valley as I have seen they do an alternative to equest pramox and bit cheaper but I can't remember the name.

just reading your thread about Canter day and martin mane and tail spray, I have to agree its just not the same, it use to be the best spray out there, I have been able to get some in the old style bottles for now as the new ones are horrible and it does not feel the same when in my cobs mane or...
