good evening :)
I'm on a busy yard and there is often some back stabbing/bitching etc so I choose not to socialise with the 'in' group. When I say 'socialise', I mean engage in defamatory conversations about fellow liveries! I'm always friendly & interested to hear about placings at shows...
I know what you mean about feeling 'out of the loop'. However, Im glad to be out of it as being in the loop seems to mean getting involved in gossipy nonsense which I am not intersted in. I am friendly and chatty witheveryone but dont get involved in heated discussions as I couldnt care less...
I am very tolerant & understanding :)
However I'm not keen to stand around for hours on end gossiping about other people & their horses. I'm also happy to hear about the ladies children & her life but not when I'm trying to walk out the door to the muck pile as I need to get back to my own...
Looks like Im not in a minority then!!
Im always polite and friendly and I appreciate having nice people around who are look out for your horse etc. but sometimes you just want to have quiet time to build your relationship with your horse- something that's lost on some people I think!

So sorry to hear this. What a beautiful horse she was. I don't think it was very nice of the owner not to tell you but maybe it was a quick decision. She was a lucky horse to have so many who cared for her x
Don't get me wrong I'm very friendly & not overly shy/quiet. I like a good old chat & love hacking out with my friends. I just really find it hard work mucking out with my neighbours incessant chatter about herself and her family. The worst thing is she talks very quietly & I struggle to hear...
I keep my horse on a livery yard. It's quite a busy yard with a lot of horses.
Unlike many of the liveries (I suspect) I don't go to the yard to socialise but to spend timewith/care for my horse. I get my jobs done and go unlike many who take about 3 hrs to muck out & don't even ride...
Hello
What qualifications one would need to become a qualified riding instructor? Can someone tell me what the course/exam entails & approximate cost? Thankyou
Thankyou again :)
Do u mean a waterford snaffle? As I believe there's such s thing as waterford gag as well?! Think I'll give it a try Thankyou :)
Just to add - I'm also a bit worried he will pull on it & damage his mouth :(
Oh deary me poor guy! Sudocreme is also really good for cuts etc. luckily theouth tends to heal fairly quickly but I wouldn't rush into riding him too quickly. Hope he's better soon :)
Thank you so much for commenting! I am worried if I use a Waterford I will be reliant on it & won't be able to put him in snaffle for dressage test! However, the thought has crossed me mind before, so thanks. I will try & her some lessons even if maybe 1 a month- better than nothing. Looking...
I have a variety of bits, snaffles & gags etc but he pulls me in all of them. Im so frustrated (& sore) do you think hes too old to learn to be 'soft'? :(
