Was just going to write almost the same as this! Cowboy riding for some reason fills me with confidence, also not reading about other people's mad horses on here or fb has helped me.
My gypsy cob has been a bit of a plod but Could be spooky, me being an older rider just got back into it suffered from nerves, in the last three months I have really pushed myself and my cob with lessons and riding him as much as possible, we are now both quite confident but my previously ploddy...
My cob had a fright with a lorry and a tractor last year, today he went past a hedge cutting tractor nice and calmly, we have just persevered and acted as if it is nothing is amiss, it can be done but guess it all depends on the individual horse.
Lol, totally agree, my daughter wanted to go hunting on her tb but he was too broken, took my little 14.1 coloured, expected to be trundling at the back, he was in the middle, up front, had an awesome time! Go hairy cobs!I
I bought two from a dealer and they were both as described, said dealer is now so disillusioned by awkward clients he deals no more, so can work both ways.
I really do feel your pain with teenagers, my daughter was / can be the same, it just seems that teenage life gets priority. I would hang in there and you will be amazed at how much extra time you will have when uni starts.
This is what I did, bought mine as a 3 yr old, he is now rising 8, has just been through the Kevin teenage stage and is now back to his saintly self, wouldn't part with him for any amount of money, I know I would be pushed to find anything better.
As title, my usually bomb proof ride/drive cob was spooked by a cyclist coming behind him a few weeks ago, now every time a cyclist comes behind he shoots off in a panic, advice needed as to how to remedy this, nerves aren't coping very well!
So pleased to read this, my normally placid cob is snorting at everything that moves, haven't ridden for a week after he bolted when a cyclist crept up behind us.
