We're in the same boat - MW is about 20 minutes from us so I was gutted when they said they weren't doing BS. We did offer to run BS shows but they had already used the dates. We are planning to do Crofton, Patchetts, Wellington and maybe some 2 day shows at Keyso, Addington etc.
There's a lot you can do in the school as well to help with fitness if hacking is restricted.
Interval training as others have mentioned
Raised poles, both trot distrance and canter
Poles set out like 4 points of a clock, they can be raised or flat to be done in trot or canter
Fan of poles...
You should be fine but you could always give him a day off if you feel he's a bit tired.
Wales is fab, great arenas, fun atmosphere and the food is good too!
We're going to the June and August amateur shows. Hopefully see you there.
Hi Guys
OH is looking for a livery yard, ideally within 10 miles of Haslemere. He needs full livery, preferably in a competition environment, with good facilities, good service and ridden exercise included.
Any ideas welcome!
Ah, Lincolnshire ditches, that takes me back. The best bit was taking horses out for the first time and not knowing what to expect - hold neck strap, try to 'encourage' without kicking and hope for the best!
Your horse is lovely and the pictures are fab. It sounds like you have made real progress though so try and stay positive.
I am sorry about the redundancy, what job were you doing btw?
Lovely report and the bits about you reading Lucinda's book the night before made me smile - it's just the sort of thing I do!
Fab piccies too, well done.
That looks like the most insane, brilliant, fun way to spend an afternoon! Do you have frequent flyer points with the local A&E?? :)
Great report BTW ;)
