Horse returned to dealer, money not returned in full

Thanks, all very helpful. I'll steer clear of Claire Davies!

Horse returned to dealer, money not returned in full

Sorry CnG? Was just wondering if you could apply interest before an MCOL claim. I know you can claim your Court fee back if you get a CCJ plus 8% interest from the time you issue the claim. I believe the case is held in the County Court nearest the defendant. That'll be a 600 mile round trip...

Horse returned to dealer, money not returned in full

I recently bought a horse from a dealer. It was mis-sold and the dealer took it back. Haven't had all my money back and this'll probably end up in Court. I know that you can claim interest of 8% once you've started your claim. Can you add interest before that; an increasing bill may be an...

Mucky Bum (or Equine Free Faecal Fluid Syndrome!)

After hours of reading and research I’ve finally reached a conclusion - as far as my horse is concerned. I’m pretty convinced that he is unable to deal with the level of fructans in his hay. So :- I need to find a hay low in fructans I need to raise the pH in his hindgut - probably with...

Mucky Bum (or Equine Free Faecal Fluid Syndrome!)

I’ve been doing a lot more research. The two major points are that it is a “poorly understood condition” and does not seem to adversely affect the horse, apart, of course, from any problems that may arise from permanently “mucky” legs!

Mucky Bum (or Equine Free Faecal Fluid Syndrome!)

I’ve researched this as much as I can! I’m not sure that probiotics are the answer although it may be helpful for some.

    Can horses faint?

Certainly sounds like some form of seizure. Maybe the lying down was a precursor to the seizure. If a horse has narcolepsy or faints it just falls over, no rigidity, rolling eyes etc. Chat with the vet is called for I think ...........

    BEST NO BUTE PAIN RELIEF

Bute is best. I’ve known horses on long term but that have led a good life light hacking without side effects. You could try willow bark if you want to go down the “natural” route. Might make your horse a bit more comfortable.

Mucky Bum (or Equine Free Faecal Fluid Syndrome!)

My 8yo 17.1 Belgian warm blood passes green fluid when he passes droppings, sometimes without passing any droppings at all. This leads to terrible staining to his quarters and down his hocks. It’s worst in the winter when he’s in at night on hay and a very small amount of feed. He’s been...

    Passports for foreign bred horses.

Thanks for that. As there is no Belgian Warmblood daughter PIO looks as though I can register with the British Warmblood Society or the British Equestrian Federation. As the BEF are cheaper that is probably the way to go. While looking into this I was just wondering how many owners of EU...

    Passports for foreign bred horses.

I have a Belgian Warmblood. The Passport Regulations state that , as an imported horse he should be registered with a UK passport Issuing Organisation within 30 days of arriving in this country. Hasten to add that I bought him in this country but his passport hasn't been updated since his...

Insrance for my ATV and paddock machinery

Hi We have an ATV plus various bits of machinery to go with it. Can't get it covered on my house insurance and equestrian property insurance is three times the cost. NFU will insure it under their tractor insurance policy including road use but not without. As it never goes near the road that...
