agree, what is the point. like a good citizen i got a passport for my horse when the rule came in which cost me money,i lost her 2 years ago but if she was still alive there is no way i would be paying out more money to have her microchipped. where are the passports those who breed literally thousands of coloured cobs? who is going to enforce yet another rule? backdating it makes no sense at all...
I wonder if vets will see this as a moneyspinner, and urge/force owners to chip their old horses
I hope if DEFRA plan to enforce this Trading Standards with be out in force with m/chip readers.
Both of mine are microchipped as they had to be for their trip to Ireland. Wasn't a bother, had them done with their boosters.
