I have a 15.3hh, almost 3 year old and am considering sending him away to be backed in the next year. Looking for recommendations for backing/breaking livery in the South West, I am based in Cornwall on the Devin/Cornwall border but willing to travel for the right place. Thank you :)

    Show Pony Producer (South West)

Hi Could anyone recommend a Show Pony Producer in the South West. We are based at the Devin/Cornwall border so near to that would be ideal if possible but happy to send further afield for the right trainer. I have a 5 year old Welsh/Arab X mare, almost 12hh that I would like to have...

Makes a lot of sense and is very helpful thank you! I think because this is the only time he has ever been coltish I've probably been to soft on him with it!

    Bit for a yearling?

Thank you, I have tried to keep things very chill at the moment, let him be a baby and not ask too much of him. But maybe this is a good idea, gives him something to think about too!

    Bit for a yearling?

Thanks, yeah I thought that would be a good idea. I also don't know of I should be stopping this behaviour some how? Will it cause me problems later on? Or should I just keep him happy and calm and carry it around with him :)

    Bit for a yearling?

Hi everyone I have a yearling colt who I have owned since weaning. I will be castrating him (hopefully) in the autumn, he was t quite ready this spring. 99% of the time he is a dream. He is affectionate and well behaved. Enjoys being around people and is responsive. Everyone loves him...

    Retraining a ex racer

Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone knew either an instructor who specialises in ex-racehorses or a yard I could send mine to for re-training? I am based in Cornwall but happy to travel for the right yard. He had been out of work for a year when I bought him. Sadly a 8 weeks after I got him...

Refusing to move in the school

Thanks, I have very limited hacking, literally just 2 mins down a lane and back which is the issue. But I will try doing that this week and see if there is a difference. I am wondering if there is any pain still but he has no lameness, swelling, heat or physical discomfort anywhere.

Refusing to move in the school

I bought an ex-racer at the start of April passed a 5* vetting. Last raced a year ago, was turned away over the summer and then bought by previous owner for retraining in October. Due to a them getting an injury they couldn't ride and he was then just used on hacks/ hunts and very occasionally...
