Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone knew either an instructor who specialises in ex-racehorses or a yard I could send mine to for re-training? I am based in Cornwall but happy to travel for the right yard.

He had been out of work for a year when I bought him. Sadly a 8 weeks after I got him he had an injury in the field and has now been out of work for almost another year!
He is now in ground work again and hopefully being signed off by the vets in the next couple of weeks. The problem is he now refuses to move under saddle, it is looking like a learnt behaviour memory issue (believe me, the vets, physio, dentist, farrier and I have literally ticked off everything!). He just plants his feet and threatens to go up but never actually does. He will follow someone on the ground so it could be confidence He is an absolute gent and my dream horse in every other way!
I need someone who is willing to ride and can help me with him.

Thank you!

Depends on your budget but would start with someone like Connie Colfox in Dorset for behavioural issues to send to. Cameron Beer is very good with TBs but he is Devon but does travel to Cornwall. Sarah Thorne goes to Cornwall a bit. I like Sarah a lot but she is fairly blunt.

Thank you, this is really helpful - I don't mind blunt :)
