I think its hilarious! I saw the original post by the guy and apparently he knew there was a gate round the corner so threw himself off before he met it!
At our yard I think the rules work quite well - we have a small indoor probably a similar size to the OP's. We have a booking system but you can still ride with someone if they have booked it - up to 3 horses at a time. We try and avoid other people's lessons but as the outdoor has no lights...
Try a book called the Chimp Paradox - I would highly recommend everyone on the planet reads this book! But it will certainly help you if you have anxious feelings in any walk of life - not just riding.

On the ground my horse is the easiest donkey ever to handle and he doesn't have a bad bone in him..
Ridden he is slightly lazy but responsive, could probably go out and win at elementary, finds walk to canter, counter canter...

Sunshine tour last year was fabulous! Great atmosphere and facilities - I would definitely recommend :) There were stewards in the dressage warm up who controlled things quite well but I cant say for SJ I'm afraid.
