Could you suggest to the YO that they buy a padlock with a combination and give the combination out to the liveries? That way nobody needs a keep and you'd feel a little happier about it. I would still prefer any horse of mine to be on site at the yard but I appreciate that's not always possible.
When I changed mobile providers and kept my old number, Virgin, who are my new provider had to link it somehow to my new phone for which they automatically issue a new number. It took them a few days to do the switch and even now its still not working correctly as family will receive a text...
I had no idea feeding salt (other than providing a salt lick) was a thing. One of the things I like about this forum is just how much knowledge a lot of you have. Quick question though, do you use the same quantity of table salt as you would sea salt as sea salt tastes far nicer and as a human...
I worked in a riding school for a couple of years and left just before I was supposed to start my BHS stages. They actually had me teaching just before I left, didn't tell me until 15 minutes before my first ever teaching lesson that is what I would be doing. It was never discussed with me, no...
I was always the slowest mucker outer on the yard. However, as I discovered when we switched what horses we mucked out, I was the only one doing it properly i.e. taking away wet bedding and poo every day. The others were doing only doing the wet bedding at the weekends when we had more help...
You forgot the one who is too afraid to ride their showy SJ and spends their time putting down other liveries. They are usually on good terms with the staff though. ;)
I prefer to follow those who post real life ups and downs with their horses. The ones that don't definitely have them, they just want people to know it. I don't follow what you would call influencers because they are there to make money selling products they come across (to me at least) as...
I would not give them notice, they will only move the horse or have a group of people waiting for you. You have a contract and proof of ownership but this person isn't playing by the rules. I hope you manage to get your horse back safely, I definitely wouldn't wait long to do that.
Its been a while since I brought horses in from the field but I guess the days of bringing in 5 or 6 at a time are over from a health & safety point of view?
I would not like that. My sister had a disagreement with another mum from nursery and she forwarded my sisters number onto men who sent her vile messages and photos. She only found out when she actually called one of them and asked where he got her number from.
OP that sounds like a...
If we do go to war, it is going to be a very different war to WW2. They are not going to need horses they have planes, bombs and soldiers in tanks etc. If there is a nuclear bomb dropped, obviously not good for those in the immediate area but those not near London should be okay. Food may...
That sounds like a frustrating situation to be in. Is he the father of your children? I don't think I would be happy with my kids dad refusing to look after his own kids.
I have just seen it on Instagram and I'm disgusted. I hope people boycott his products and hit him where it hurts. There are ways to get a horse to do something but that is the WRONG way and the horse learnt nothing but fear and pain from that experience.
