Returning to work after a month off - how slowly to build it up?

I rode my four year old for the first time today in 2 weeks (and has only been ridden 3 times in a month) and went for an hour walk. Im probably going to carry on roughly as normal (2x walk hacks per week with sharer, 1 normal hack and 1 lesson) as he wasnt really fit before!! I dont really...

What level are you competing at?

Erm at the moment prelim dressage! With my old horse we did a bit of everything but mainly PN eventing - we did do PC opens in dressage, showjumping and eventing

What are you doing with your horses at the moment?

Nothing! My horse has been ridden 3 times in the past three weeks and no chance of riding again until next weekend. Im not to worried though my one horse is only 4 (well tech 5!) so he's just having an unscheduled holiday and my other horse is retired anyway.

the smallest horse you have ever evented???

I evented my 14.2 at two intro events this summer. The height was no issue - our biggest problem was we went too fast (hangs head in shame) and the dressage where the judge laughed at us and asked what an earth we were doing!!!

    I should be certified mad!

Personally I think your a bit mad to travel! I live in the middle of Tallands and Summerhouse and we are in chaos. There are so many cars abondaned on the side of the road in my town. There were a lot of accidents about yesterday, my road home was shut as a lorry was across the road... I...

*cough*you might NOT want to start doing your BE sums for 2010...!

I am starting to wonder if i am silly if i pay for my horse to be evented by my sister for probably most of the season (until i am deemed capable!) Im still annoyed/upset at how much i spent last year to have a few scary runs and end up with a retired horse

I work full time and am finding it very difficult at the mo - but compared to the rest of the thread i have it easy! I have two horses one i ride and the other i dont (sadly), i feed 3 horses in the morning and turn one of mine out. Then two days a week i have a sharer who rides for me the...
