Has anyone been on a Polo taster day?

Check out Groupon, milliepops, worth a try. I managed to get a 1/2 day polo experience for a friends birthday pressie for £20. -somewhere near Bawtry I believe but other venues were listed. She had a really good time.

    Puppies and biting/teething

Tallulah pup was very bitey from 9 weeks when I got her, until about a year or so old! (Border terrier cross something bigger ) She had a set of teeth a Great White would be proud of. It hurt sooo much :( but she gradually acknowledged toys and chews were OK to bite, humans? not...

    Horse for sale

Jeez, I'm rather lacking when it comes to all things like this pic but even I think both horse and rider look particularly uncomfortable and neither look happy/good

Tow bars and insurance small print

I recently read about having to declare a towbar as a modification to your insurance company too. So as I was renewing my car insurance, just a few weeks ago, I told my insurers about it. Of course I was expecting to have another lump sum added but to my astonishment - my insurance actually went...

    Microchipping for all equines

I just wondered if it was any different in Ireland honetpot. It would be great here if our Councils were able to take up this responsibility but as others have said, they are being stripped of cash more and more. If the gov took proper responsibility they would make financial allowances to local...

    Out of control stallion

Well done teddypops, it must have been terrifying, I'm so pleased you and your girl made it away safely. I agree with others, the fencing to secure that stallion should be bomb proof. I'd contact the Police and perhaps a piece in the local paper wouldn't go a miss either, at least it may warn...

    Microchipping for all equines

I agree Cortez but who pays for the removal/boarding/destruction of an equine that's not chipped or claimed?

    Canine Parkour!

Or Barkour... I found this today! So trying to hide in a tree is not going to help you if a Pitbull chases you...good to know  My old rescue bulldog used to climb my pear tree and help himself. Sad about the dog chained up with Shibu inu (sp) trying to say hello though...

    Geriatric tomfoolery!

Bring on the sun....it's been a long time coming, even if it was only for a day. I felt rather perky today too, not quite as athletic as Alf of course but it's wonderful what a little bit of sun can do to make you feel good :):)

Police and RSPCA raid vet centre

I'd hazard a guess that the photos of the animals (apparently taken before the raid) were passed onto the Police and or RSPCA and on that basis, a warrant to search the premises was issued. I doubt the owner would have allowed any RSPCA in if they had visited the place before. It appears to...
