    DIY Livery around Welwyn

Hello! It's been a while since I've been on here but I'm looking for some local advice! I'm moving down to Hertfordshire in the next few months from the Midlands, due to a new job and moving in with my partner. I'm looking to move my horse but have no idea about livery yards in that area! The...

Turn on forehand - horse rears?

Thank you, that is excellent advice too. I will really think about that when I next give it a go!

Turn on forehand - horse rears?

Thank you all, my initial thought was that he is probably just a bit confused as he does get frustrated easily when he doesn't understand! But then started worrying that it was pain. But as he does other lateral movements well then I thought maybe not! But then he started doing his rearing...

Turn on forehand - horse rears?

So a while ago I had a one-off lesson with a good dressage instructor at a clinic who got us doing some turn on the forehands, although very much helped by her on the ground. I've tried to do them since but my horse threatens to rear (and has done a couple of small rears too) when I ask...

    Straightness and Suppleness

Brilliant, thank you so much for your advice. I am going to keep away from the track when I ride now to practice. Will also practice some counter flexion too. He is quite wobbly, just getting used the whole dressage thing but we did our first BE100 test at the weekend and he actually went...

    Straightness and Suppleness

Thanks for your reply! Actually we seem to get good marks for circles and he does these really nicely, it's the straight parts where we get the comments - such as going down the centre line etc. Circles are his best bits of the test!

    Straightness and Suppleness

Hello :) I've been taking my rather green eventer out recently and he's been doing really well in the dressage phase and now getting lots of 7s! I'm super proud of this as not long ago he had his head in the air all the time and couldn't canter nicely at all, he just felt unbalanced...

Rubber matting for a smelly wet horse..

I've got a rather wet gelding, I'd quite like to get some rubber matting for his stable but don't want something that will leak/where all the wee will run under as don't think that's particularly nice or hygienic! If anyone knows of anything that won't break the bank too much please let me...

Fernie Hunt PC ODE - anyone done it/know it?

Hello, I'm thinking of entering the Fernie Hunt PC ODE held at Rolleston Hall in a couple of weeks. Has anyone done it before or know what it's like? Can't decide which class to do!

Partner not happy about horse costs

I agree with this. I'm also still living at home at 23, not rushing to move out as I'd have to live on my own and I get on with my parents. It also means I can afford to pursue my eventing dreams, which from a non-horsey family I've never been able to do. One day I'd like a family and I don't...

UA ODE 2nd July in the midlands area?

Old nag - They are and I'd love to do it but its affiliated and I can't justify the cost really as it's so much more expensive than the unaffiliated ones!

UA ODE 2nd July in the midlands area?

Durhamchance - Thank you, I'll have a look. I'm based near Coventry, very near Weston Lawns. Happy to travel a bit but ideally not too much over an hour!
