    Pre-Easter weekend plans

Lesson of 4 seasons today we had blinding sunshine with blue skies, rain, wind, hail and a rainbow to finish 😅 really cracked the leg yield now can yield to both sides evenly down the centre line. Trot was much more even on both reins today so our homework appears to be helping. Tried her in a...

    Dressage judges and BTV (article)

Was just about to post the same the study is cited at the bottom https://thehorse.com/1125947/elite-dressage-horse-head-and-neck-angles-associated-with-scores/?fbclid=IwAR0ST1tcuGn54FHmoqhkNkdEN4tkaHTSZZbSQD4NeBCZKIX99kJpZN89grM It's nice to have something objective to back up what everyone...

this is just about the most arrogant piece I have read in a long time.

Ive hard the vet for mite jabs and he's super quick with the jab so D barely notices but there's still an appropriate amount of time checking the drugs asking appropriate questions on ponies condition plus he always gives her a treat and a head rub before he goes. Very efficient but definitely...

Looking for a breed of pony my son won’t send to sleep and turn into a seaside donkey. Ideas?

A lot are still advertised on arablines Does he want to work his magic on my fell,I've got a bad back at the mo and could do with no flying/bouncing down hill.

    Pre-Easter weekend plans

Bought THE dress Saturday, had a little school today in the sunshine. Pony made me very proud by marching right up to the water tray which had blown across the school and contorted into a weird shape... investigated it and gave it a lick 😆🤦 My backs been progressively worse since the beginning...

controversial Post people who can’t afford their horse

I understand why things have gone up but I do think it's the speed of change and the stagnation of wages. Mind you the people I find that complain most about the cost of hay and livery are the ones who have brand new cars and 4 holidays abroad a year.

Why do we have horses? The good (or least crazy) reasons!

This filled my heart today this time last year this pony wouldnt relaxenough to eat whilst tied up or stand still to be groomed, I was always getting bruises where she head butted me and she was nicknamed the scowler (not by me). Her she is letting me pull clumps of mud out of her ears and...

    Mid March Weekend Plans

Managed to avoid all the rain 😆 did som in hand poles Friday as I was a bit short of time and energy, schooled very sweetly early Saturday before the rain came in and then did some hills on Sunday with a cuppa and a bit of grass at the top. Rushed a lot an was a bit rude in the way down my...

I am going to try brwt on Friday!

Might give it a go, my poor pony is very safe apart from a few teething problems last spring is literally bombproof .. think fighter jets overhead, high speed trains. I just dont think it's fair for her to have to carry my anxious catastrophising butt around... It would be much nicer for both of us.

    Koniks at Lowther.

I wonder if it's biased data, if all the studies are with koniks on wetlands then of course they are going to be the 'best'. Aren't they cute.

    Koniks at Lowther.

Such a shame as the fell pony society are pretty keen on promoting conservation grazing for the breed. Prince phillip used to drive his Fells at lowther every year. I wonder what happens with the results of this comparision?

    Vet fees under review

My small animal vets have a pet club which covers wormers, flea treatment, vaccs and a couple of other bits with a small monthly payment I worked out the yearly cost and it worked out much cheaper. I did joke to the emergency vet about the price of catheterising a cat and how hard can it be (I...
