Actually now you mention it there is another gelding on the yard who he absolutely hates and I also did have the feeling he may have been cut late as there is a lot of loose skin which gives me the impression that there may have been testes hanging there for some time. I’ll have a look at rig...
My gelding has grown very attached to a mare at my yard to the point where he is almost unmanageable. He will run around screaming, get himself unbelievable sweaty and go nuts if he doesn’t have her in sight. He reared and dumped me in the field today because I gave him a tap on the shoulder as...
Sorry should have said earlier. Im looking for x country boots. He has very thin sensitive skin, he has struck his front feet before and pulled a shoe so Im not sure rubber would stand up to that. I bought the Dalmar boots purely for the reinforced strike protection part but hurray me I spent...
My boy has splayed feet which makes it hard to find over reach boots that will fit. I first got the large Dalmar boots which were good length wise but were too big around his pasterns and spun round. I swapped them out for a medium and they were a better fit around his pasterns, but the anti...
They could be or it could also be a reaction from the cling film. Grey horses with pink skin also tend to be more sensitive. Another possibility is that they are wind galls but werent as big before and youve not noticed them. If hes been on box rest that can also cause wind galls to enlarge.
Ive had a horse on full loan for the past year and now Im looking into buying him. Would it be silly of me not to get him vetted. I know he had colic in 2015 but has not had any problems since then. I am hoping to compete him in the future when I have transport if that would contribute to the...
Thanks. I’ve sprayed a ton of deet on him especially on his belly and taken his fly rug off cos he hadn’t worn one all last summer and everything was fine. So fingers crossed he’ll still be ok tomorrow morning.
I would say he had about 10-15 larger lumps and several smaller ones between them. The area most affected was along his girth line. But the larger lumps were more towards the outside of his belly and the smaller lumps around the middle.
I went down to see my horse one morning and discovered that multiple hard lumps had appeared over night and were covering nearly all his under belly. I went down to check on him later on and the larger lumps had grown a bit (not a lot but enough for me to notice). I kept him in that night and...
Thank you again.
You've been very helpful, and I can see that I have made it complicated, so I will change it to two types as Morgan suggested, and compare those. I did read about Parelli and it looked very interesting. thank you.
Sorry that I have clearly offended some people. I do not...
