I wonder if anyone knows about the above Saddlers? I had a saddle made by them some months ago and am having difficulty getting in touch with them. Any help would be appreciated.
My 18.2 ID does this sometimes too. I have trained him with a Dually halter and if he does pause, it isn't for more than a few seconds. I also find it a Godsend if he decides to jump at "monsters" over the hedge etc and he totally respects the halter and doesn't drag me around. Really recommend...
Wow! That is really encouraging. The Surgeon says I'm a bit young to have it replaced yet(I did ask him to repeat it!) so need to really get stuck into getting my weight down and strengthening my quads to stave it off as long as possible. Thanks for your comments.
We built our barn last year with hollow blocks and decided we would do belt and braces and filled with reinforcing bars and concrete. We have big horses and didn't want to risk them having a good rub and damaging themselves of the wall!! Not worth the risk cutting corners.
I'm so glad it isn't just me then. My boy is getting really naughty coming in in the morning and 18.2 of prancing gorgeousness is very scary but this thread gives me hope it won't be for too long!!!
My boy will be 6 in April and currently stands at 18.2hh God help me! We have a lovely Fairfax saddle which has been adjusted a couple of times, but fits him and me really well. Really hope he stops growing....though every inch is adorable! lol
So sorry Mrs B. We had a very close call a few months ago but were lucky and he and his friend came home to us today. Just about to go out to check on him before bed.....will give him very special hugs and remember those, like you, who weren't so fortunate. Take care. x
Very well done Jess! How wonderful of you to persevere and do your best for this poor boy. I will keep everything crossed for you and him in the future. Look forward to updates.
Had my horses sarcoids photographed today so going to follow the advice about Liverpool Doc.
My Vet recommended we go this route as it has the greatest chance of success. He said if it was his horse he wouldn't hesitate....good enough for me.
My very best wishes to you. I have been where you are twice in the last 6 months and awful though you feel tonight, you will feel a sense of relief when it is over.
I miss our 2 still but know it was absolutely the best thing we could do for them...we loved them enough to put them first...
What a lovely post!
A reminder to us all to try to appreciate the good stuff about being fortunate enough, to share our lives with our horses. I would like to think my boys would choose to be with me too.
Nearly forgot.....yes we need a photo!!!
Thanks for these, gives me somwhere to start.
I have looked at Matthew Seed and think his pictures are stunning but am a little scared to ask how much it might cost! Still, it costs nothing to enqire I suppose.
