    Equine dentist - Bridgnorth

I also use Philippa Walker 07710 427197. She is registered and I like the fact that she competes herself so you can talk about how the horse is going. Mine are pretty chilled but she always appears to have a confident, quiet attitude. She is coming to us near Bridgnorth on Friday 11th.

Update - early foal for pre pubic tendon rupture mare

Thank you everyone. We are really pleased with them both and fetching them home on Friday. Care and attention at Twemlows has been exceptional. Just added another few pictures to the album of her at 4 days looking so much stronger now and enjoying the sunshine. Good luck to those still on foal...

Update - early foal for pre pubic tendon rupture mare

Teak managed to have her foal with a bit of assistance (foal was upside down) at Twemlows on Thursday morning bang on 320 days. Bay filly just like her mum, a bit on the small size but a relief to all that seems fully developed. We have called her Breeze. She had plasma yesterday so we will see...

    New Foal

Congratulations - he is lovely. I am going to try and post some pictures of our new arrival if I can work out the pictures!

    Thoughts on inducing.

I have looked into induction as an option for my mare with pre pubic tendon rupture. All of the vets and experienced breeders I have spoken to have ruled out induction on the basis that a foal born before it is ready is highly likely to have developmental problems. Unless the mare's life is at...

Prepubic tendon rupture 5 weeks before foal due

Just to update, her general condition has improved, back on her food and she is now off the Danilon which has cured her diarrhoea which was starting to be a worry. The filling in her front legs has gone down - although vet said it would have moved rather than disappeared and is now all on her...

Prepubic tendon rupture 5 weeks before foal due

You are right - between Bridgnorth and Craven Arms. I am with Severn Edge but used Twemlows for the AI was happy with their set up and as a one off first time breeder felt she would be best off foaling there, 24 hour supervision, resident vet on hand etc. I will speak to Yorton at Welshpool to...

Prepubic tendon rupture 5 weeks before foal due

This gives me some hope. She must be a tough mare I hope she suffers no long term ill effects.

Prepubic tendon rupture 5 weeks before foal due

So sorry you lost your mare and foal. I will try and download the book on my kindle - I have purchased several foaling books and none of them have more than a passing mention of this condition. Thank you

Prepubic tendon rupture 5 weeks before foal due

So sorry to hear this - I know that this is a real possibility and is my worst fear. We have had the scan this afternoon and it showed no apparent rupture to the abdomen wall which was good news and means that she should be fit to travel to somewhere she can get expert care. I plan to move her...

Prepubic tendon rupture 5 weeks before foal due

Thank you - I have every confidence in the set up at Twemlows but was thrown a bit by the suggestion that she should go straight to Liverpool. Hopefully my vet will talk to their resident vet today and we will come up with a plan after the scan tomorrow. I knew breeding was going to be stressful...

Prepubic tendon rupture 5 weeks before foal due

That is reassuring to hear. I am hoping that she will manage to travel in my trailer with the partition taken out. She seems reasonably comfortable now on Danilon and I can park so that the ramp is level for her. Twemlows is only an hour from us but Liverpool a bit further.

Prepubic tendon rupture 5 weeks before foal due

If I was experienced in breeding I would leave her at home but its my (and her) first foal which was why I had originally planned to send her to stud to foal down. My own vet is talking to the vet at Twemlows today hopefully. They did say that when they had a similar case it went to Liverpool...

Prepubic tendon rupture 5 weeks before foal due

Hi all, I have been lurking on here for a while to pick up advice as breeding my first foal from a much loved mare (11 year old showjumper/eventer maiden). I had hoped my first post would be happy foal pics but devastated that she has suffered a rupture and can hardly walk with an abnormal...
