Teak managed to have her foal with a bit of assistance (foal was upside down) at Twemlows on Thursday morning bang on 320 days. Bay filly just like her mum, a bit on the small size but a relief to all that seems fully developed. We have called her Breeze. She had plasma yesterday so we will see what her bloods are like today. Unfortunately as Mum had been dripping milk for a week beforehand, despite being given extra colostrum her bloods were low. Mum is very protective and managing to nurse her but still quite sore and had some impaction so being closely monitored for colic. So we are not out of the woods yet but every night we get through without a phone call I am taking as a good sign! I have put a few pictures of them in an album as don't seem to have permission to attach here - if you click through to my profile you should be able to view.

Congrats! Fingers crossed for both and hopefully they will both get stronger as they heal and develop.

Great news, I read your previous thread and was hoping for a good outcome for you. Sounds like Twemlows did a good job of helping her and that you chose the right place to send her to.

Hope they both continue to do well, I know what you mean about wishing for the phone not to ring at night! When you've got a animal in that sort of situation your heart is in your mouth every time the phone rings!

What good news. I hope that everything continues to go well. :)

It's lovely to see mum and foal looking so good. :D

Well done, great news, fingers crossed all continues to go well. If thats them on Faracats reply they look great, nothing like the mare we had with the pre pubic tendon rupture, I'd be beginning to feel that all will end well.

Beautiful mare and foal, congratulations. Will keep my fingers crossed that everything continues to go well. Twemlows really are fantastic.

Just seen your post. I am soooo happy for you and mum. What trauma, my first baby was upside down!!

You must be so happy I hope it continues to go well. What a gorgeous pair.

Massive hugs.

Thank you everyone. We are really pleased with them both and fetching them home on Friday. Care and attention at Twemlows has been exceptional. Just added another few pictures to the album of her at 4 days looking so much stronger now and enjoying the sunshine. Good luck to those still on foal watch!

Small world! I took my mare upto twemlows last week and was admiring these pair! Foalie was bronking around, very cute!
