Hind shoes getting pulled off by another horse - any ideas ?

Thank you barefoot is not an option for me I love my hacking too much. The bridlepaths around here are fairly stony he is 1/2 tb and has got a bit picky over the ground as he has got older. There is nothing special to his shoes so I don’t think we can change too much there. Overreach boots all...

Hind shoes getting pulled off by another horse - any ideas ?

My horse Squiggles lost one hind shoe last week which my lovely farrier put back on the same day and then on Sunday he came in from the field with the other hind shoe twisted. My farrier has just left and said that there is no way my horse has done this to himself as the outside of the shoe was...

Equilibrium Massage pad & mitt - worth investing or nice to have ?

I bought the massager a year ago and use it all the time. My boy loves it, it sends him to sleep. I try and use it before and after riding it makes a big difference to how quickly he warms up especially in cold weather. Definitely one of my best ever buys.

e An update - the bleed/discharge disappeared for about 4 months and reappeared again at the end of May. Exactly as before a tiny smear in one nostril. This time a head X-ray showed fluid in his nasal cavity. He was operated on last week and a mass of tissue stuff (about half a mug full)...

So I didn’t really realise how difficult chickens would be .... to take a decent photo of ! So here are a couple for now and hopefully we will get some better ones of them out in the sunshine next week. Their outdoor pen is being built today though some ducks and chickens were stolen yesterday...

Advice please - thinking of rehoming chickens

A little update. We picked up four girls from BHWT on Sunday. The whole process was extremely efficient and we had a quick lesson on how to hold them. They seemed a little shell shocked on Sunday and there was a bit of in fighting to establish the pecking order. Even so we could see enough of...

Thanks both. We have found several “near” neighbours who are happy to help out with any hands on chickens advice but also our equine vet is on the approved list which promoted the question.

Hi Leo and Nudibranch thank you for the info. Leo you have highlighted some niggles that I had over the idea of rescue hens after all if someone was thinking of getting a rescue as their first horse straight from the ‘bad’ home we would all be saying NO don’t do it ! How do I find a reputable...
