    lavender in bedding?

    Hi have just cut down the dead flowering stalks from my lavender bushes would it be ok to mix some in with the bedding (straw shavings} for nice smell anti bug qualities, would it harm horse if he ate some, not sure if its poisonous?:(

    I agree with Bills give it a go bells are supposed to be Calming they can help horses with their rythm ie rythm bells you can buy to hang round necks when you ride them like a necklace, not girly. good luck and let us know cant wait to see if it helps, i like spooky stuff.

    I do agree with you also enfys if i find that he is not happy then of course we will rug. He lived out 24/7 from the day he was born but now has a lovely stable to sleep in at night so we shall see how he gets on.

    Thanks this was my thoughts also didnt want to make him soft and if he gets dirty so what! and i want him to grow a nice winter coat. Just hoped i wasnt being too harsh on him he will be our new babe but am not going to molly coddle him.:)
