    My horse sweats profusely going XC and I never use a martingale. Normal Shires breastgirth with Lemieux sheepskin cover does the trick.

    Really sorry I forgot to pm you Quizzy before leaving for Houghton. As you will know the mobile signal at Houghton was non existent!! Hope you got on okay?? I took photos of the 2015 cci2* course and sent them to Shoestring Eventing for anybody wanting to go next year :-).

    Sorry to be pedantic but the maximum custodial sentence of 10 years only applies to criminal damage tried on indictment. Summary criminal damage (ie. Damage worth <£5k) is subject to a maximum custodial sentence of 6 months.

    Why don't people attach the camera to the outside of the top of the riding boot? I know that may risk an injury to the leg if the horse lands on you. But then again safer to be on the leg than on the head if you really feel a camera is necessary...

    Have you tried a pelham of some sort? My go to bit for horses that need more than a snaffle is a nice soft rubber pelham with a curb chain.

    IMO rugging up overweight horses is irresponsible. People anthropomorphize their horses to a ridiculous degree these days. The owner feels cold so they put a rug on the horse.     The headaches are more likely to be sugar/caffeine withdrawal than starvation mode. We all tend to eat too much sugar these days and our bodies become used to it.
