life after colic surgery - advice please

Thanks for your reply vetsbestfriend. I hope your boy continues to do well. My girl recovered well and no further episodes thank goodness but I’m monitoring always and the worry never quite goes away. Sorry for late reply - almost two and a half years ago!

    Melanoma Laser Treatment advice needed

My mare has had several surgeries to remove melanomas - under tail and in parotid area and will be having more removed next year. My vet has not suggested/offered laser treatment so would be interested to hear how your boy gets on - good luck.

    Unethical livery yard owners

They did indeed put me in a position where there was no other option. As I said in my original post they have a reputation for this type of behaviour which sadly I wasn't aware of until it was too late. I've since spoken to 'escapees' fro that yard who've said I wasn't the first and probably...

    Unethical livery yard owners

Thank you be positive - very wise words. I have now found a yard which does care about the horses' welfare and they have set up a small paddock for my mare. I just wish I hadn't had to make the move whilst she was still recovering from surgery. The previous yard had let me use the small paddock...

    Swish rugs

Another vote for Swish. Have the 50g and 360g and both are excellent

    Unethical livery yard owners

My mare had colic surgery two months ago and last weekend she completed her two months box rest and was able to be turned out into a small paddock. Despite several reasonable requests (from me to YO) during the preceding week for her to use one of the small paddocks, I was refused (she's usually...

life after colic surgery - advice please

So, after a very stressful couple of weeks, my lovely mare came home from hospital last week after colic surgery. She had a displaced colon (right dorsal displacement) and a large impaction. The vet wasn’t sure whether impaction caused displacement or vice-versa. She is making a good recovery...

    colic surgery

Hi flyawaywish, my lovely mare came home last week after colic surgery. I'm desperate to do anything within my control to keep her healthy and colic free. Whilst researching online I stumbled across your post from a few years back. I would really love to have a chat if that's ok?

Sarcoids - past and present experiences

There's a FB page called Turmeric Users Group- you just ask to join the group. It's overseen by a vet and there are lots of success stories about turmeric and sarcoids. Good luck!

    Life with melanoma

I'm still trying to contact you luckilotti - I have sent two messages but apparently they haven't reached you as I've reached my PM quota- I've only sent one PM prior to this so it must be a very small quota! I've contacted admin to resolve and will keep trying to reach you. Very frustrating!
