Just received an email from the loacal riding club saying that a farrier is touting for trade in our area. A Richard Duncan from Fife
Does anyone know him or what he's like?
His name is Rudi Paret and he works in the Burgie area?

Loads of them in this neck of the woods - the place is heaving with "field ornaments". Strange thing though, they all have the best of gear! Fancy rugs, two or three saddles and bridles, "toys" matching buckets, grooming kits and the rest!
Most of them advocate "barefoot trimming", natural...
I'm fed up of the wind too. Its always wet, cold and windy where we are and it gets really depressing. Another think i'm fed up with is the wet and the mud. every field we use is muddy now and you cant get away from it.
Ours used to pull the shoes off in the fences, but now the park has dykes all around it so they dont.
We had to change farriers and the new one is brill, his shoes stay on for ever. The old grumpy guy we had before was useless, they would sometime fall off after a week.

Mmm Sounds a bit dodgy to me - what was this "accident"? He should have his passport with him no matter what happened to him in the past.
How do you know he evented at Burgie - perhaps they could give you more info?
Cant be bother pi**ing around with all those gadgets. I just use my saddle, side reins (if I'm "working" him) and my ordinary bridle.
