Anyone else feeling exhausted and fed up with winter?

I'm getting really fed up with the weather we're getting this winter - it's been so windy and wet since new year and now they're forecasting snow for next week! I just feel so tired constantly battling against the weather and the mud.

Is this getting other people down?
 
Noooo to the snow, Daisy has been living out for the last few weeks now and its so much better for her. Where in the country are they forcasting it for?
 
I am not too bad really...the mud is a pain but it has been dry for a while now so fairly bareable. I could barely walk across the field with the wind today...but spring does feel in the air really. I moved my fence today so my lad can eat the last of his winter grass as he will have to be back on his small paddock come April so he does not get lami. So it feels close to spring to me...but we have to see what March brings cause the weather can be bad.
 
Well, it's been the dryest February for many man years. It has definately not been too bad, just very heavy rain when we get it, but we have had horrendous winds this winter. yes, I can't wait for the better weather to arrive.
 
We have moved fields today, first time after 3 months in same one, everyone seems to be nazzy me included, little things seem to feel worse, woke up with a cold sore and feeling crap today so obviously run down, at least we are heading into spring instead of into winter, his lordship was actually full when I gave him his dinner today after he has pigged out in the new field, I didn't give him much and he didn't eat all that, anyway to your original question yes feel tired and weather is so unstable which doesn't help.
 
Glad it's not just me! I think you hit the nail on the head - its the unpredictability of the weather thats getting me down. One day it is like spring, the next back to wet and windy. (and the snow is forecast for Scotland!) We seem to have had it a lot wetter in Scotland than elsewhere by the sound of things - our fields are total mudbaths. But at least it is getting lighter at night and in the mornings which helps a lot.
 
This is my first winter with my first ever horse so I didn't know what to expect. I think, like you, it has been the up and downs of the weather that has got to me. Where I keep my horse is so exposed that wind forecast anywhere else seems like gale force up there. The mud seem to dry out only for a freeze to take place and then when it thaws it's back to mud bath again. Doesn't help that I can't seem to get into any consistent training with my young green horse - this is really adding to my frustrations. Thank god she will hopefully soon be going back on schooling livery and we can progress (they have a nice indoor school for the days when I'll be doing my bit of input). positively p*****d off. as winters go here, its been mild and dry. last sunday was beautiful - 13 degrees, wall to wall sunshine and no wind. didn't last. had to bring my boy in last night (lives out 24/7, naked) 'cos the weather forecast said rain and hurricane force winds, but still mild

good thing i did, as that's what we got. tomorrow's supposed to be slightly damp with little to no wind, so he's going back out with his mates. however, come tuesday we can expect more of the windy stuff, with snow thrown in, just for a laugh....

Yes I am fed up of this winter and the fact that it is so windy, particularly at weekends. We live on a hill near the Yorks/Lancs border and I am sick and tired of the wind making all the jobs so much harder.
 
I'm fed up of the wind too. Its always wet, cold and windy where we are and it gets really depressing. Another think i'm fed up with is the wet and the mud. every field we use is muddy now and you cant get away from it.

Having a horse really makes you appreciate the seasons, doesn't it. I used to like Autumn best when I was young, but when I became a horse owner it very quickly changed to Spring.

At least the mornings & evenings are opening out; that makes a real difference.
 
Yes, feeling really jaded.

Just realised that this is my 20th winter having horses. Not sure whether I can last another 20yrs!

So I've done twice daily visits to my horses for approx 6300 days. No wonder I'm tired!!
