Hello,
I have two gorgeous Labradors named Saffron and Tara, they have never had any problems but recently Saffron has been making strange wheezing noises that cause his sides to heave. He does this often but somehow never when he runs. I thought it may be Kennel Cough but he is up to date with...
Thank you all (yes, all of you ;);) ) for your help, I will get tests done for cushings as some of you have advised.
To flintfootfilly, thank you for being specific with the tests, we have got eletric fences up but she somehow gets underneath as she is quite little, I will look into blocking it.
Yes, I know I over-reacted but I was a little annoyed because I FELT like you were implying, oh it's so obvious, phone a vet don't ask in forums'. I realise I asked for advice and I am also a bit flinchy, so I apologise again, but the vet has been called.
The Xmas Furry/Nell Rosk
Please may you stop implying things, yes, we have called the vet, no, he has not been here yet, no, I don't know why and obviously anyone would be scared for their horse!
Yes, I realise that, I wasn't asking anyone to give my horse a full check over, I only wanted to know if you had seen anything similar. Of course we are involving a vet, I am really not that irresponsible.
First check that the horse does love jumping and that he's not in pain.
If he really is just excitable then try walking and trotting over poles. Then put up a cross pole and trot over it carefully. It's best not to let him canter until he knows you're boss. Don't go into a really huge jumping...
Try having regular lessons, a pair of eyes on the ground helps a lot! I had the same problem with a horse of mine, I brought her to a halt and did lots of flexion with her, left, straight neck, right and so on. She started to chew the bit and did drop her head, when she had the outline I asked...
Hello,
I own three horses myself and then also have one on loan because her owner does not have enough time to ride her. Recently she has been pushing through the fence into another field in which there is an oak tree. In the last week or so she has been peeing excessively, her bedding is...
If the owner is not listening to complaints, then you should find another yard. It is irresponsible of the owner to let his dogs scare horses and injure people. If you go, it's his loss, not yours because he will be the one losing business.
