What do you love most about your horse?

I don't have my own, so here is a compilation of the ones I've ridden/helped with... 1. When they look to you for reassurance, and you know they trust you 2. I agree- when they smell lovely! 3. One pony who I've been riding a lot recently, when he flaps his lips occasionally! 4. Same pony...

    Jumping

In my private lessons, we didn't jump at all. I was having private lessons for the year before, and I didn't jump a single time! I'm not completely sure, it was definitely partly down to the pony who didn't jump. It really varies how many other riders, one week there were four of us, the next we...

Does anyone have any ideas for the confidence issues, and timing for jumps? Thanks all :)

    I need some advice please

It sounds like you've had some nasty experiences- I am very sorry about that. I suggest going to a local riding school at first, until you are confident riding and being round horses again. If you were to get a horse, then find it hard to cope, you would have to go every single day, which is an...

    Jumping

Hi I am in need of a bit of help really! So, until two weeks ago, I hadn't jumped at all, or done any pole work for nearly a year (at a RS, developing on a bigger horse who they didn't jump). I moved up to a group lesson on a different day not very long ago. I've had three lessons in this...

Jumping, and change in height of pony!

Thank you very much! I think breathing is a good bit of advice for me, because I often forget to! Also I tense up and 'forget' that I need to because I have so many other things to think about! Thanks again :)

Jumping, and change in height of pony!

Ok thank you! I'm just worried and probably over thinking it all! I don't think they'd try to catch me out, I am aware that I haven't done much for a while compared to others who have. Thank you very much! :)

Jumping, and change in height of pony!

Hi all I have some questions about jumping really, but here's a bit of background: I was riding in a group lesson during the week for the last couple of years, but around six months ago, one way or another, people in my group peeled off, leaving me. Some people went into a different group...

Where do you look for share horses?

I've unfortunately had very little luck with helping out at riding schools. My parents are quite into horses (never owned one themselves though) and they ride- do you think this might work in my favour, because they could help supervise, and one would always be there even if I wasn't riding.

Where do you look for share horses?

I'm a young teen, with around 8yrs riding experience of weekly RS lessons, an adult who would be able to take me (I have am in the process of convincing them that I should share), I've helped with a few friends' ponies and ridden them out etc, but I don't have much confidence when it comes to...

Where do you look for share horses?

In Northamptonshire area! All the ads seem to be horses of the wrong height, too far away, wanting people of different age groups, or when they say 'not a novice ride' or 'competent riders only' which is quite hard to categorise because I'm not sure what people view as 'novice'? I can't find any...
