when my horse was on trial i just adjusted the standard BHS loan agreement to meet my needs. As your loan will last a couple of months, i would suggest this as it will cover everything. The most important thing is to insure that the loanees realise they are liable for horse, and ensuring he...
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a livery yard in aberdeen, i will be staying nr bridge of Don area but willing to drive 20 mins or so to get there. I'm looking for somewhere with grass livery. I have looked into some of the bigger yards but cant afford a few hundred £'s a month. Just wondering...
Hi there,
does anyone have any experiance with horses that rush jumping? im runnig out of ideas, and all experiance and guidance greatly appreciated.
drags you into fences
wont pull up, turns away by only me hawling him round.
If i do manage to pull up he does mini rears and continues to jump...
thanks everyone! your posts are all really helpful (:
yeah hes the same XC except he doesnt have a flat jump..
I think lessons with a BSJA instructor is a great idea, not sure whos in my area though (im based in aberdeenshire)
Yes ive tried loose humping him before, pretty much same as you...
i also think XC schooling would be a good idea - go with other horses though. Most horses really enter the spirit of it, and the jumps are solid so he is more likely to jump them properly.
Has he always been slow jumping? maybe he is getting a bit bored.. if you normally jump in a school, do...
I would say at least 6-7k..
what track does she jump? does she have the abiltity to BE/BD/BSJA? these things may boost the price a bit more.
I think it can also depend on where youre based, look at horses for sale in youre area and compare.
and another thing - what do youre schooling sessions consist of?
perhaps he is getting bored? or maybe you need to be more repetitive and do lots of circles, some spiraling in etc.
if i were you i would try lunging for 10mins or so before you ride. this will get some of his excess energy out of him so he would be a bit more likely to behave. Then after a while you'd be able to stop this once he gets back into the habit of schooling properly.
Also is he a gelding - are...
i think the best way to ride a bank is to soften youre hands so the reins can slide through, and lean back. Dont force yourself to lean back, just relax, keep youre heels down and let youre horses momentum determine youre position. You dont need to overthink youre position, youre balance will...
i think that heels down are definately a good thing. but too much can cause youre leg to tense and youre foot is pushed too far foreward. This is an ineffective position for youre leg to be in, as you cant use it.
Maybe you could try sitting back a touch, and then riding foreward with your leg ot your hand.. it would get the engine in his hindquarters really going so better for jumping.
Also try to remember not to turn your hands in - if you keep your thumbs on top a tiny bit more there is a straight...
im running out of ideas for my 6yo horse..
i believe he has the potential to BE, but at present his jumping really lets him down. He is amazing and never spooks at anything.
HOWEVER he is way to excitable. he rushes (very badly - just ignores rider completely) and that causes him to knock...
