What is the best way to jump a banking down the way? lean right back? sit in middle of saddle? in trot? in canter? its bout 75cm high any advice please!
i think the best way to ride a bank is to soften youre hands so the reins can slide through, and lean back. Dont force yourself to lean back, just relax, keep youre heels down and let youre horses momentum determine youre position. You dont need to overthink youre position, youre balance will sort you out. Just make sure youre not tense, or with a tight contact, because that is what forces a riders position to get pulled foreward by the horse.
Good explaination by Emily! I just make sure I'm ready to slip the reins as needed and try to aim to keep my body upright compared to the ground, as below;
