Hi guys,
Just wondering what the going rate is for topping fields?
Thinking of hiring a quad and flail but wanted a rough estimation of prices people have paid so as not being over charged really.
Any ideas of whether I’d be looking at per acre or per hour?
Theres probably about 5 or 6...
@Griffin, the current YO moved here about 18 months ago… so I was already here… pink posts and all. I did think it was a ridiculous request at the time but they seemed to be bothered by my pink posts… I did just bring a pink mounting block to the yard too (fb marketplace find) to which they (I...
To be honest it is a small 20x40- more like a 18x36 school so not standard size anyway I can’t imagine anyone would really want to hire it with that in mind ?♀️
It’s just a shame. The yard also has a round pen for lunging etc and that is in a complete state of disrepair too- not helped by...
Thanks for all of you who took the time to read and reply.
This school (luckily) cannot be used for turnout or anything else as there is no fencing anyway…
but having read these replies I think it’s fair to say I made the right decision choosing to not use it anymore.

The YO will not have fibre or rubber - only sand.
I genuinely don’t feel like...

I am happy on my DIY yard and more importantly so is my mare- we’ve been here for 8 years.
However, without meaning to sound ungrateful, it really upsets me to ride in the school.
We...
I’m sorry if this possibly turns into a rant.
I have had a bale dropped off, I opened it and having inspected it as normal and found this:
It is meant to be haylege but it is very dry and doesn’t have that classic ‘haylagey’ smell. There are also other patches of white around the rest of the...
Oh! I have had her since July and we don't do any heavy work as such, occasional hacking and light schooling (mainly walking and trotting... Cantering only in large open spaces... Needs some take off room!) and never encountered this with her before. People have commmented that she doesn't...
Hi all,
Apologies in advance for the long winded post!!
As I wait for the back lady to come out I thought I'd ask for some opinions on this strange positioning of my mare's tail. She has only started doing it in the last 3 weeks- prominently holding her tail up and to the left. At first I...
