Old dog need advice if to pts - long post not sure what to do

Sorry you are going through this but unfortunately the more we love them, the harder it is to let them go. I have made the difficult decision with two of my dogs in the past year. I agree with the other posters in saying I think you already know what the right decision is. It is an agonizing...

Dry dog food advice? Giving up raw for a while :(

It was duck and rice. The prepared raw foods seem very expensive. Thanks Superhot, I will check out http://www.whichdogfood.co.uk/

Dry dog food advice? Giving up raw for a while :(

My dogs have been on the raw diet for around 5 months now and have been doing really well on it. However I am expecting a baby in 6 weeks and I am finding it increasingly hard to keep up the raw feeding. I find it difficult to source enough decent meat and storing and preparing it all takes time...

    Shoes going back on :(

Yes, right at the front the hoof wall has worn down and the sole is lower than the hoof wall. There seems to be bruising on the sole right at the toe. His soles in general have become a lot lower and convex recently. Would the grass do this?

    Shoes going back on :(

Unmollassed sugar beet turns him into a lunatic! It does not agree with him at all. He gets salt already but not bicarb of soda. Thanks. I will look into that:)

    Shoes going back on :(

yeah he had boots at the start but they always twisted when he walked. He is very pigeon toed and I don't think that helped. Also he has quite large feet and there are not many boots out there that would actually fit him. Only the more bulky models seem to go to larger sizes and my husband...

    Shoes going back on :(

We are struggling with the decision to put shoes back on our boy. He has been barefoot for over 18 months and was coping great over the winter despite a very bad start to barefoot. However he does not seem to be coping at this time of year. Despite being out only at night wearing a grazing...

    Back on Track dog products

Thanks. Am very tempted to give it a try but don't want to spend money on something that is useless. I know there's no guarantee these things will work but nice to hear good reviews.

    Back on Track dog products

My 9 year old boxer has just been diagnosed with spondylosis (bony spurs growing on the vertebrates of her spine) We are booked in for acupuncture starting next week. My previous boxer also had this condition and acupuncture helped her a lot. I was just wondering if anyone had used the Back...

    odd gait

Hi, My warmblood also started doing this pacing, but it was in walk, and was increasingly difficult to trot and canter. He also lost weight and muscle. This went on for a year with various vets and physios telling us there was nothing wrong. Eventually we were sent for a bone scan as a last...

New horse becoming more and more lazy

My cob yawns when he is in pain. He is slightly arthritic in his back legs and he yawns like mad when getting his feet trimmed.

Feeding advice for underweight barefooter please?

Thanks for the suggestions. Think I'm gonna try him on the ERS pellets and see how he reacts to them, and I have increased his linseed. It really is trial and error isn't it? Oats? Are these really safe for barefoot horses?

Feeding advice for underweight barefooter please?

I have a 8 year old, 16.3hh warmblood type who has been barefoot for over a year now. He is very grass sensitive and is turned out in a grazing muzzle. He currently gets fed a very small amount of high fibre cubes with Pro-Balance, salt and 1 1/2 mugs of micronised linseed, alongside his...
