Speaking as an EP, I would say that the clients I will go to the ends of the earth for have the horses clean, dry and ready in time, and put the effort into training their horse to be calm and still for trimming. I don't even care if there's a bit of work to do still on getting the horse happy...

You may find that sorts itself out now the hock discomfort is under control, as the horse should start loading the hind feet more 'normally'. In the meantime, scoot do a 3 degree wedge pad that you could put in some boots if the xrays are showing flat/negative pedal bones 🙂
