My first pony was completely unsuitable to begin with. Me (age 9) and my mum only had experience of riding lessons and the pony we bought had been broken at 5, turned away until he was 11 and then sold to us. He was absolutely nuts when we got him, couldn't physically canter when I was riding...
This.
Also, as someone who hasn't had a horse for nearly 3 years and realistically won't have one again for at least 3 years (unless I win the lottery) horses ARE a luxury. I pay for riding lessons a couple of times a month and cherish those couple of hours. I know you have an emotional...
When I had Finn (he was owned by redwings) we insured him with NFU and I can't really remember the ins and outs but it was cheaper to insure him for everything rather than just tack and vets bills. They said if he was to die we should use it to make a donation to redwings
No, however we offer to sell them which bits and pieces they want separately. One of ours came with masses of rugs, half of which we didn't need/want so we ended up selling them anyway. If they're not things that would fit future horses its easier to get it all done at once rather than it...
Hi everyone
I'm a first year equine science student and I've been set an assignment where we are to pose as a marketing consultant for a hypothetical new equine product to launch in the UK.
The idea I had was for riders to send videos of them training or competing to a website which sends...

Some judges loved his forward way of...
Finn was on the redwings rehoming advert at shows for a while and one year at the Norfolk show their banner was a massive picture of him.
Sadly they stopped using it shortly after he was rehomed, although I still have a good look at their stand at shows just in case they use a picture of him again
Thanks for the replies!
JustKickOn - I should have put in my op I've already read that and didn't find it hugely useful as it seemed like common sense stuff and them selling products (or maybe me being thick!). Thanks anyway though
Goldenstar- I think I'll invest in some then!
Evening all
I was given some lovely dubarry boots for christmas and was wondering if anyone had any hints or tips for helping them to last as long as possible. They were a bit of an investment and I hope to get a good few years out of them and won't be mucking out in them as they'll mainly be...
IMO the pony would be too big and echo others in having problems tacking up etc. but obviously there are pros to you knowing the pony and it already being there
Not much to add other than I have great pleasure in seeing my first pony having a whale of a time doing his rounds with our pony club...
