Does your yard have an instructor on site or regularly visiting? If so I would enlist the help of such a person and pay them to school the horse and teach you on her. If you choose an experienced and sensible person they should be able to advise you on managing your mare and help you to regain...
Sounds like a godawful yard … with little to recommend it .. I would rather be in part or DIY livery, with access to a standard sized floodlit arena , no harrowing responsibilities and a cosy stable ..
Am afraid you may have to swap the haylage for soaked hay .. have had two horses who just couldn’t tolerate haylage .. the eventual solution was protexin gut balancer and soaked hay
Sell the pony on if you can , he’s not suitable for a small child .. you made a mistake , it’s no big deal .. he’ll be fine in a companion type home , life is too short xx
