    Livery yards around Ayr

Wow, at 45 mins each way ... but when you think about it, it's worth it for a good yard where the horse is happy :) Thanks so much for your suggestions and help - very much appreciated :)

    Tracey timber animal bedding/surface

Another side to this is that (according to my farrier), it has a bad effect on the horses' feet if they're standing in it for any period of time. His view is that it retains moisture and makes the hooves deteriorate.

    Livery yards around Ayr

Hmm, that's disappointing about Ayr Eq being rude b_m - I don't like that sort of thing - there's just no need for it. Thanks Chocy - so maybe not Lionsgate then ;) ... but the others sound definite options, plus Jack's. Thornhill would be lovely - it's just a wee bit far from me ... but it...

Thanks b_m :). I do quite fancy Ayr Eq. Hadn't thought of J McGeogh's or Lionsgate, so will definitely investigate these too.

CC on riding needed. Please be kind!

Lovely horse - super canter. Ideally I'd say he needs a little more forwardness in the early trot (which was much more forward after you'd cantered), and although you don't want to push him out of his natural rhythm, a little more impulsion in the trot would be good. Having said that, you look...

    what weight can highlands carry?

Quite an interesting article here: http://www.thefield.co.uk/features/529836/Highland_ponies_on_the_hill.html so I'd have thought that a substantial, fit pony with good conformation would be able to carry a substantial adult. My substantial highland pony can certainly carry a reasonably...
