    Sarcoids and welfare

My pony had one like that on his sheath, that my vet removed (cut it out) by standing sedation in his stable and sitched up the wound. I dont remember it getting infected, but he was on pain relief and antibiotics for a good week or 2. They did grow back slowly, but he was an older horse and was...

    Flooding in my yard/stables

Probably not what your thinking, but what about a spill kit? they are really absorbent, or try more readily available options like cheap cat litter?

    Cat litter trays

i dont have a self cleaning tray, so i cant comment, but tackled the issues with a covered tray. They cant tip it over or pee over the edge. they dont flick the litter out (i used wood pellets, which smell lovely) The covered tray has a carbon filter (no smell) i take the poos out with a 'dog...

    Regretting yard move

Thinking for things to help. The turnout and costs of the yard seem positive and suit your horses need for t/o. The issues (from reading the thread) are - No storage near the field? - there are loads of good quality plastic storage boxes, that look like a chest freezer. They are waterproof and...

Bought a lame pony - what would you do?

Write a timeline of events, including any evidance that you have (emails, texts, photo's, videos and even phone records) Keep a copy (if you can get it) of the original advert if they will, get statements from any professionals Did the tack come with the pony (was it the same tack that you tried...

Horse trailers? The good and the ones to avoid

if you are new to trailers and your horse hasnt traveled in one before, id look to hire some different models first to see how you both get on.

    Dispute over private trailer sale

That isnt always correct. We bought a brand new caravan with tyres on it 18 months older than the van, apparently more specialist tyres are often stored for awhile before they are first used. If its an ifor trailer, you'd prob be best looking at the serial number

    Possible vision or neuro problem?

have you had ago at a hind knuckling test? i believe its one of many tests that a vet might try for coordination problems

Headshacker - how much bad luck can one have?

If this was my horse run bloods, you never know what could have been given and would help with return or getting money back if something shows. The fact your horse has got gradually worse may indicate drugs wearing off? Find previous owners if you can (passport, internet searches of the horses...

    Chicken breeders/colour genetics

Ive got 2 buff orpington ladies and they have pink/pale legs. Do you think they are a cross breed or a black orpington? (i think we need pictures :) )

What's a normal chicken mortality rate?

I have 2 buff orpington ladies and they are VERY laid-back and really soft ladies. They arent amazing egg layers, they dont lay over winter and are probably broody at least twice over summer, but they are great pets.
