Horsebox/Trailer for hunting - LH or RH unload?

Looking at buying a trailer for the coming season. I have been looking at the Ifor Williams 511's but wondered which side you'd recommend for unloading? left or right hand unload? It will be mainly used for hunting, pleasure riding etc. My horse isn't the best at loading, but i'm hoping the...

Pro's and Con;s of support boots

Hello, My 14 y/o ex racer had a field accident and sprained his hind fetlock... After 3 weeks of box rest and 5 weeks of restricted field rest, vet has recommended walking/trotting 3/4 times a week, 20-40min a day (as long as swelling etc stays away) I must add; he is sound trotted up, but...

    Scared of worming

After a lot of consideration and speaking to my dad who has been a horse owner his entire life, I followed my vets advice and used the promax. 30 hours later *touch wood* I have had no side effects. We even went for a stroll round the block, he's bright and eating so I'm pleased! Thank you...

    Scared of worming

Thank you all for your replies. I did buy Panacur 5 day guard but she said the worms have built an immunity to them? I think I'm going to speak to a different vet and get a second opinion. I know it sounds silly but I'm petrified of it happening again!!

    Scared of worming

Hello, July just gone, I rehomed an ex racer off of the track. I was told he was upto date with everything but he was so skinny we decided to worm him with neropraz just to be safe. 24 hours later he coliced, luckily I caught it early and he is fine. (Only needed pain killers) It's now...

    Hooves warm on one side?

Got my TB out the field as usual this morning, hosed off his muddy hooves, and started to tack up. Was picking out his feet when I noticed one side (front and back) were warm and the other were cold? Is this normal? I took him out expecting to see head Bobbing and he seemed fine. No...

Panacur 5 day - advice needed

Thank you CharliePonyPops, I was thinking of a worm count but know it doesn't show certain worms etc. He's an ex racer and i got him straight off of the track so assume, as he was such a good racer he was well looked after, so hope he's not too bad. (he looks very good at the moment) To be...

Panacur 5 day - advice needed

I've had my horse nearly 9 months, when I first got him I used Noropaz which made him colic. Since then i've been super paranoid in worming him (my last horse died of colic - not worming related) but was advised to use Panacur 5 day guard. I'm so paranoid that i'd like to know if its safe...

    Boots for sensitive horse

Thank for your recommendations. Eskadron's sizing confuse me! He is usually cob in everything (17 hand TB) but can't make head or tails of their sizing! I quite like these... http://www.saddlery.biz/eskadron-flexisoft-air-protection-tendon-boots.html Or the sheepskin lined version??

    Boots for sensitive horse

Hello, I'm looking to buy some boots for my TB. I'm really worried and confused as what to buy him as a simple pair of tendon boots rubbed and caused an infection thus making him lame. I'd like something for jumping in the school and hopefully to use XC etc. Could anyone recommend a...

    Gelding obsessed with new mare

Thanks, I appreciate its not natural but he was happy alone and i know many other horses who live alone. Like i said he had company when we go out etc and never bat an eyelid when we parted ways from other horses. We live next door to a livery and he would always hear and see horses but would...
