    Groundwork Courses

Any recommendations for a reasonably priced online course for ground/in-hand work to follow? What I'm trying to achieve is more movement, flexibility and improving our relationship. Horse has some mild but medicated arthritis so starting off gently

    Individual turnout

Individual with groomable neighbours. We only have 4 on the yard, tried all the combos. The gelding and her seem inclined to have struggle cuddles, her fellow livery is similar size/age etc and although they're friends kicking was getting messy and the other one has shoes on. The pony was fine...

    Hoof boots. Recommendations?

Wanted renegades or explora magics, but scoots were the ones that actually fitted and have been great. Don't move, don't rub even though they look like they might, we've done mud, steep hills and cantering on grass no problems. Drawn blood (mine) doing them up but they are stretching and there's...

    Limited time

Help, this is my first year on a yard with no floodlights and I work full time office hours, cunning plan to have someone school for me isn't happening due to the current situation. Alongside long hacks Sat/Sun I have just half an hour of light in the mornings for some kind of exercise for pony...

Would you buy a horse you knew was ‘overpriced’ in these circumstances?

Yes i paid over for my first 'owned' horse, an irish 5 year old, from a dealer with a really good reputation but her horses certainly aren't cheap and there is no scope for bartering. 3 years on it hasn't gone smoothly for the whole time BUT she is what she was sold as - she has a lovely...

Help on choosing a livery yard and settling horse in

I'm nearly a year into first horse ownership and would agree that having someone helpful in charge that you like is much more important than somewhere that has a shiny set of showjumps and automatic waterers! :) My yard is miles away but I swallow the petrol cost as I like the place and so does...

Sharing, buying, loaning - possible nervous breakdown

Hi, this is my first post on here but I could do with some wise advice from strangers! I've ridden on and off since I was about 8, but never had the luxury of my own horse as a child or the means to buy my own, until now...... i've been sharing and having decent lessons for a couple of years...
