I am looking for a complete balancer to feed my 17 yr old Irish draught X, mainly hacking and light schooling at the moment but will be fittening him up over the summer in view of hunting a few times over the winter (he has had 2 years in very light work on loan). He is a good doer, turned out...
Ok will practice our trotting up also! I'm so nervous to be honest but I'm sure he will be fab for me, fingers crossed! Need to get all my equipment together and get sorted
Thanks for all the help, should I wear I tie? I was going to use a Pelham and double reins. I don't think I will have a problem in the line up etc he's a very patient horse which is reflected when we are out hunting. Our schooling isn't completely up to scratch but will work our hardest up until...
I have entered my 15.1hh ID X into the Small Hunter Class at a local show. It's a first for both of us and very new to me so after just some general advice on turnout etc! There is a ride judge. I'm not expecting much for our first show, but it will be an experience :-)

sorry didnt read all of your post (its been a long day)! I was thinking of using the mollichaf calmer, you find it ok? I only feed a handfull of chaff and handfull of mix to keep him happy as all the other horses are fed the same time too, and it keeps me at ease too while the fields are still...
he is on hay at the minute but will be moving to a new yard soon where haylage is supplied, but there is not much grass there so until it comes through in the next few weeks i've wanted to give him that extra hard feed you know?
