THANK YOU. When there are plenty of excellent, well marked paths there is no need to wander elsewhere, or start sending hate mail when the landowner dares to inform you that this is not a public RoW!
One possibility is he wasn't balanced? Youngsters aren't as good at balancing on three feet. When we try to balance on one leg sometimes we have to wave the other foot to get balanced too. If mine kicked out I used to let go. She'd then adjust another foot to balance better and let me try...
Highways Agency only deals with motorways and major a roads so she can't have been from there(unless your drive opens onto M1 or something!). Sounds a bit dodgy if you ask me!
Well I'm really lucky as mine lives out and I don't pay for grazing/bit of hay.
She eats grass and a bit of hay but she gets obese just looking at grass so haven't fed her much over the winter- I'd say she was down to "slightly overweight" now...
She's barefoot so 20 quid every 2 months for a...
Great pic!
I've pretty much only ever ridden 11.2-12.2 for the past few years and SO MUCH FUN. Very sure-footed, quick and great personalities. Rode a "proper" horse a couple of times and everything just happened soooo slooowwwllyyy.
Also, seriously, is it safer to ride a pony? Not so far to...
If any horses die in this year's race, I really can't see it being run for much longer. I find it harder and harder to watch each year so I'm not sure how I'd feel if they did cancel it.
Having said that, it would be nice if the animal charities made as big a noise about the numerous other...
Breeders who have a herd of whatever and every year get a new "crop" of foals and expect to sell them in the autumn and have literally no back up plan for them if they are not sold and then refuse to take responsibility when they have unsold foals- it's the buyers' fault for not wanting what...
Breeders. Those who breed distorted horses to show, those who breed because they "want to", those who breed with no thought for the foal's future life and then moan when they can't sell.
Also those who blame their horses. So often it is the rider's fault but no the horse is the one who gets...
It's worth talking with your parents about it- and the family friend- so they know and are happy with what you want. Wills cost money but tbh I cant imagine there are many occasions where people go "oh why did they write a will" and plenty more of the opposite...
Sorry to hear things are difficult.
I used to be really against PTS but the more I see of the other options I can only see PTS as the kindest thing to do.
However don't forget that this isn't a choice of right now or when your horse dies naturally- work out how long you can give her and...
