channel 4 now;horse programme

Am watching, but just wish they weren't following one particular horse. That always gives me the heebie-jeebies ever since all the pre-race stuff about Dark Ivy, One Man (not GN I know) and more recently poor McElvey, not to mention Synchronised.
I have such mixed feelings, have always watched the race on TV but can hardly bear to do so
RIP Battlefront and poor Little Josh :(

My thought too! I remember they followed According to Pete a lot last year too :(

However I'm finding it a fascinating programme!

i feel the same...i wont watch the race live but will watch the replay once its all over and hope they are all ok...i was watching yesterday and today and found it difficult to watch the national fence races , very sad that 2 have gone already.....

Found it a very interesting programme, some stunning shots especially of the horses in training, galloping through the seawater on the beach.
Also liked the way it touched on various famous incidents in the history of the race.

Loved watching Red Rum and Mr Frisk! Great programme.

I can't bear to watch the National these days. Iv used to watch a recording once I knew the fate of the fallers but even that is stomach turning. I love racing and go to Cheltenham every year, but I just feel that too many horses are sacrificed at Aintree for the sake of a historic spectacle. Reduce the field to less than 30 and I might reconsider.
This documentary sounds interesting though, but try to catch it on internet.

Watched, a good program. I usually watch and put a £1 bet on but this year I have a really bad feeling about the National,I hope it goes well and the controversy can quieten Dow .
