I tend to take the calm/sweet approach until they need a telling off. If you spend your whole time being loud/brash with them they wont always know when you mean to be abrupt.
I tend to find soft and gentle with a good 'Oi you brat' when needed works pretty well!
I've had horses on my own previously and I used to make feed up for the morning the night before if they were fed, ditto the haynets.
A little trick I found quite handy was to have a little box that I could stick boots/brushes/hoofpick etc in if they were in a field so I could take...
Haha, that's okay then catwithclaws :D
Karran - I'm out near Bounds Green though my other half lives in Greenwich :) Know the feeling about Waterloo - a friends got a horse out in Surrey that I occasionally visit and the looks I get are hilarious.
Chessington looks lovely from what I've...
Thanks rhino, good to know I'm not the only horsey person in London...getting stared at on the tube in jods is great fun
Scottish borders sounds great...much nicer than the city!
Hi all,
Just a quick intro really!
23, currently living in that London, horseless (can't afford one and the livery here sucks mostly!) but ride when kind friends let me/I can get to places that aren't naff!
Oh wow, a whole forum for horsey folk...I'm excited!
