    Why bother posting?!

I have to say, I think I give up posting on here. Everytime I ask for advice on things, I get told I'm not good enough and should get a professional to do it... Way to boost my confidence. Cheers people. Paying someone to do all my horses isn't exactly going to help me progress! I don't care...

    Youngster keeps ditching rider!

I'm only nervous with him though - I've worked/ridden 5+ others since that accident and been fine with them. Plus, it's only hacking that I worry about coming off - more for the horse than me. If I'm in a school, they can't get hit by a bus if I come off.

Amy may, why do you say this? I've never mentioned this horse before in any previous posts...

Pony doesn't like to be bridled

Just an update - I spent half an hour doing the honey on the bit trick with pony and after putting bridle on, grooming, taking it off, giving her her feed, putting it back on etc she was already improving, only arguing for 30 secs before taking the bit :) So happy!

    Youngster keeps ditching rider!

My mums filly has a half sister who was backed and broken as we did ours. She's always been a bit more difficult than our filly but has taken to ditching her rider if she's taken away from her sister (even if ours is in the small paddock next to the school in full view of her!). She does it by...

So proud of my 4yr old.

Well done! :D Youngsters are the best - they always surprise you and surpass your hopes! My filly who is rising 4 loaded in a trailer first time the other day - we'd never even shown her one before!

Do all horses like 24/7/365 turnout ?

My Exmoor X goes mental if she's stabled for long - kicks the door, raises hell. She's 35/35 and lives out 24/7. My warmblood used to be stabled but hasn't since I got him and whenever I try and stable him now he gets upset and panics! However, the TB I work with adored her box rest and would...

    Annoying habits,..

Not skipping back the muck heap is my pet peeve - how can I empty my barrow if everyone else's have been dumped at the front?! Using my stuff and not putting it back where they found it in the condition they found it. People criticising how I work/tack/manage my horses.

Selling a pony - so hard!

I've been working with a pony for three weeks now, always knowing he was going for final schooling in January and then going to be sold. He's now going up for sale before December and I'm gutted! How can I only know him three weeks and yet be so bonded with him?! Do other people find it...

Do you have a signature fall?

I seem to land on the head and then do a neat, slow motion forwards roll. And the worst injury I've had from landing on my head? Blood blister under my eye! My poor hats on the other hand...

Pony doesn't like to be bridled

I did wonder about the honey on the bit thing as it's how we trained my mums youngster and she loves her bit! I don't think it's poll pain as she loves me scratching her ears and forelock and things. And shes not bothered by her headcollar
